There are plenty of things to do in Sayward.  Here are just a few:-

Dine at Cable Cookhouse

A unique steel-frame building made entirely of used logging cable.

Walk

Stroll on 140 hectares of natural wonderland at the mouth of the Salmon River.

Marvel

Interesting growth in the tidal canals of the estuary and sloughs of the Salmon River.

Watch

Huge cruise ships ply the Johnstone Strait and are a daily sight from May until October.

Fish

In late August and early September, springs, coho and sockeye team in the waters off Sayward.

Admire

Not far from the wharf. Watch commercial fisheries, pleasure boats and other marine traffic.

Boat

We can arrange a guide, or if you have a boat there is a good boat launch at the bay.

Learn -- Darymple Trail

Take a self-guided tour of giant old growth forest mixed with a variety of undergrowth and second growth fir and hemlock.

Stroll

Just a few yards from our park, stroll along trails on the Salmon River.

Whale Watching & Bear Viewing

In summer there are many Orca whales and dolphins that come to our area. Tours are available locally.

Shop for souveniers

at one of several crafts, collectibles and antique shops.

Day Trips

There are a number of very interesting day trips to communities and lakes nearby. This is a native mask in the Potlatch Museum at Alert Bay.

Deer Grazing in Meadows

Hunting in season for Elk, deer, grouse and bear.

Build Sand Castles

Take the kids to Gentry's Beach and build sand castles in the pure white sand, or swim in the salmon pool.

Wander through yesteryear at Camp F, viewing many antique pieces of logging history.
